A Letter from the Founder of Mando Mandarin
Dear School Administrator or Teacher,
I’d like to explain to you how I’ve made finding the best contemporary Chinese language program very easy for you.
In 2007, I moved from New York to Shanghai, China in order to find new life opportunities and improve my own Chinese language skills. I tried out over thirty language schools or private tutors, and many self-study software packages and books. Some courses were not very well-organized, while others were way over-priced… interestingly, MOST were just NOT that exciting.
During my search for a quality Chinese program, this is what I discovered. There is a huge difference from school to school, and from teacher to teacher, in terms of quality, methodology, and especially the amount of fun a student will have learning. Learning a language that’s as daunting as Chinese should not be laborious and stressful. It CAN and is SUPPOSED to be fun and inspirational. The degree to which a real live teacher can make learning Chinese enjoyable makes all the difference.
Several months into my research, I met Kassey Wang, an education and language professional who had created her own unique method for teaching Chinese. I immediately hired Ms. Wang to give me face-to-face lessons for 100 hours. I found her method to be so incredible that I decided to team up with her so I could share it with students from all around the world. Together, Ms. Wang and I built Mando Mandarin by recruiting and training a lively, youthful, and energetic team of certified teachers who blend Mando’s method with their personal teaching styles.
After testing our program for over 50,000 combined hours on hundreds of students from over 40 countries, we are ready to deliver courses to public and private schools like yours. Today, students and schools are thrilled with the results! We truly have made learning Chinese easier. See what others are saying by watching videos and testimonials from our website or at our exhibit at the conference.
I am certain that you will be satisfied with our program and pricing. We offer free course consultations and demo lessons for faculty, parents, and students, so everyone can get a taste.
Remember to sign up for a free demo while you’re at the conference!
Regards,
Mike Cheng

Mando Mandarin Online Chinese School is one of the world’s leading online Chinese language schools. It specializes in teaching Chinese online to pre-K to 12th grade schools and students, as well as face-to-face to businesses and professionals located in Shanghai. Mando also offers other course types (1-on-1, business, survival, culture, etc). The school was founded in 2007 by Michael Cheng, who was in search of an effective course for learning Mandarin Chinese.
After working with several language experts, Cheng discovered that the key to learning Chinese quickly is finding the right program or method which simplifies seemingly complicated grammatical structures and pronunciation techniques and summarizes them into easily understood mnemonic devices.
Cheng, with the help of some language experts, began to systematize the Mando teaching method around this information and recruited a team of certified Mandarin teachers from Shanghai. At the end of 2007, Cheng and his team, including Kassey Wang, created Mando Mandarin Online Chinese School.
Wang is Mando’s Director of Education. She is a certified teacher and has founded and trained teachers for training centers in Shanghai and Beijing. Mando’s talented team of certified instructors has tremendous experience teaching students from overseas of all levels and backgrounds. Every lesson is live and taught online by a real teacher from China. Since its inception, the school has satisfied several hundred students from over 40 countries and taught over 50,000 combined lesson hours.
Mando Mandarin offers free course consultations and demo lessons.

What’s GREAT about Mando Mandarin?
Don’t just take it from us. Read what satisfied schools and students have had to say:
“This program is really great because it teaches kids that you can learn other languages and it’s not that hard.”
- Lizzie Walsh, 7th Grader at St. Gertrude School in Cincinnati, OH
“I think that [the students] really seem to enjoy it. This is one of the classes where you see a lot of interaction and they’re talking to each other in fun ways.”
- Elaine Nolte, Assistant Principal at St. Gertrude School in Cincinnati, OH
“I started with Mando Mandarin to improve my speaking and to supplement what I had already learned with my previous Chinese lessons. I must say that I have been more than satisfied with the quality of the instruction, and the one on one attention I had received from my instructor. I have been thrilled with Mando Mandarin and I will continue to expand my Mandarin education further. For the price you pay, you can’t beat the value.”
- Justin Kim, Student from New York, NY
“[Mando Mandarin] has been very easy to work with, very flexible, very adaptable; everything that I have been promised has in fact happened. There have been no technology challenges of any sort, it feels like the person is right in the next room as opposed to halfway around the world. Clearly they’re very competent not only in Chinese but their facility in English. It’s been a very easy program for us to make work in the time constraints and the budget constraints we have.”
- Diane Laake, Assistant Principal at Mother of Mercy HS in Cincinnati, OH
“My Chinese has reached a level I never thought possible unless I moved to China. When I was in college I had taken Chinese, but I did not learn very much. Traditional teaching forced me to memorize words and produced little results. The Mando Method was so different. All my lessons were based on everyday topics and gave me enough time to actually use my newly learned Chinese in private conversations. This permanently ingrained the language in my head. I am extremely confident now in my ability to speak Chinese. It is an awesome feeling and I definitely couldn’t have done it without Mando.”
- Jon Pei, Business Owner and Founder of FruiTeaLicious.com from Dallas, TX
“Ultimately, I chose Mando Mandarin for two main reasons: 1) it’s much cheaper than comparable face-to-face lessons, and 2) it’s really convenient, since I can do it from my laptop rather than traveling to [class]. I am happy to say it has surpassed my expectations. My teacher reviews learning materials with me every week, and clearly and patiently explains the grammar and vocabulary. Then, we talk about topics I’m interested in, keeping my interest level high during the lesson and giving me relevant chunks of language that I’ll use later. She lives in Shanghai, so I know I’m getting real, current, colloquial conversation practice that won’t make me sound outdated or awkward when I speak in the real world. My speaking has really improved since I started with Mando Mandarin, and I feel confident that I am making my way towards fluency!”
- Ana Kravitz, Online Student from New York, NY
